# Education

The Education Committee identifies emerging trends and knowledge gaps within the field of information architecture, develops responsive educational programming, and ensures the delivery of learning experiences across various formats. Committee members collaborate to establish educational standards, evaluate program effectiveness, and align learning initiatives with the association's strategic goals.

### What do we expect from members of the Education committee?

* **Attend Regular Meetings**: Participate in scheduled committee meetings to discuss educational initiatives, review progress, and make decisions
* **Program Planning**: Help develop annual educational calendars and curriculum roadmaps
* **Content Review**: Evaluate proposed educational materials and programs for relevance, accuracy, and quality
* **Needs Assessment**: Gather and analyze data about community educational needs and preferences
* **Subject Matter Expertise**: Contribute knowledge in specialized areas relevant to the association's field
* **Resource Development**: Help create or review educational materials, handouts, and resources

Committee members typically commit to:

* Monthly or quarterly meetings (1-2 hours each)
* 2-5 hours per month for various committee activities
* Possible attendance at key WIAA events
